Subject: The reason for the 3pt............

setup is hitching and unhitching multiple times a day/night. The sweet corn and other veggie growers often have to ship some distance to the cannery. The cannery will supply the transportation outfit sometimes, and they are usually a double 32' modified van or flat with racks. The lead trailer will be pulled by one tractor with a dolley that he usually does not unhook from. The pull trailer however, is pulled by a second tractor that has to hitch and unhitch multiple times in a night usually by him/herself. Lots of folks have made some really cool 3pt. hitches with even a hydraulic release on the pintle so they never have to get out of the cab. Most however either get out to relese the pintle then again the lock it, or have a rope to release it and get out to lock it. But it is nice in soft ground with any combination of tongue designs, to be able to simply lower the 3pt and hook up a new trailer and go.
