Im, not sure if you would have to change the parameters in the HCU or not. If you do, that is something your John Deere dealer will have to plug in and do. As for hardware, it should match up. I would definatly talk to a salesman. I have ran into stuff on the back into these tractors that was supposed to interchange, but the transmission housing was set up different on the 81s and 82s.
