Kindersley Sk. | Pole sheds in this area all have crushed rock tamped in around the poles. I had a pole shed built last spring and they bored quite large holes ~18 inches in diameter, 6 feet deep and after the poles were in, they filled them with 3/4 inch crushed rock and tamped the hell out of them. I've been in the shed during some terrible wind storms and see no movement of the poles at ground level.
In this area concrete around poles is considered a no-no. Concrete holds moisture and causes accelerated rotting of the poles underground. | |
