Subject: RE: *EDIT* - Anyone using a hooklift truck to haul grain

central - east central Minnesota -
I think a guy can make it work . . In my mind, picking up the loaded grain box with out spilling the grain out the back would be the challenge. I've seen flip up sides on dump boxes (used for demo - shingles). Maybe a tight fitting tarp on top to keep the grain intact. Getting the boxes out of mud and such isn't a problem. Watch some of those things at construction / remodel sites - Muddy as heck and sunk in the ground - the truck picks'em right up. Maybe something on the order of those cotton trailer pickup things in the south? The cable systems seem to work more like a roll back bed (less angle). Hook trucks seem to have more dump angle on and off. Maybe they make a "roll" back hook ?  I think it would work slick.
