| Well glued pvc sch 80 is pretty durable. Don't think sweat soldered joints are invincable either. Pvc doesn't shatter like glass, it actually machines pretty well and is amazingly tough. Probably shouldn't use it though mainly to avoid liability and insurance issues. By the way, those plastic nuts on those high dollar aluminum tube fittings are nothing to brag about either. I have had good success using 1" od rolled galvanized 18 guage tubing that a local irrigation company makes to carry hydraulic oil at 1750 psi on their center pivot irrigators. Use their compression fittings with general galvanized pipe fittings to create about any routing necessary. Is zinc coated on both sides so no problem with rust flakes. | |
