| thats a trick question that maybe a call to dot would answer.
but depends on state and federal rules and classification of truck. but a class 8 truck can be driven by a non cdl holder if it fits x and if its non commercial.
if your a farmer they use to have a class a farmer license that i held sense i was fairly young until i got my cdl. usaly dmv will give the test and its a drive around the block but thats hear say and many moons ago.
