Pooof. That's what you're likely to hear if you're lucky...
Return filters are fine. Just plumb it as close to the couplers as possible and make sure you put a ball check between the filter and tractor so that you can't pressurize it backwards by accident. A lot of return filters i've seen are rated for 25 psi or so. More than that and you can expect somethign to bust.
