Subject: Lost oil pressure Triton 5.4? How many senders?

just a tish NE of central ND
We replaced the oil presure sender on the f 150 today due to intermitent oil pressure.(No oil presure on the guage and the red light was on)Most of the time it showed norman and NO red light, so we figure it is the sender. My question is , how many senders needed to run a guage and a red idiot light on the same cluster? We could only find on.... zit only has one wire. S Does fords guage just show in the normal range to show pressure and drop to the bottom when there is no pressure. In other words, is it a true guage or is it just a warning IDIOT ORNAMENT with no real pressure measuring capabilities?Parts books show the same sender number for both the guage and the idiot light.but it does not say if there is one used or two used.
Comments anyone?
