My thinking and I am not backing there tractor. If it is a bigger horsepower engine than your old 4030 than I would expect it to use more fuel doing the same work. And in the winter I would think it would soot more as it is working less with more power so it is idling more? Again just a guy looking from the outside trying to look in. Sorry if I'm off base here.
