Why aren't all post sprayers tall enough for tall corn?

You are looking at a strip in my wheat field left by the airplane when the pilot misjudged his approach to the field over a set of power wires and basically landed in the field. To recover he dropped part of his load to regain altitude. The mark right in the middle of the picture looks like the tail wheel was actually dragging on the ground for short while. There actually were a few other strips in the field that looked like wheel tracks from a distance. In reality, the pilot must have been flying low enough that the landing gear was hitting the wheat heads.
