I use the same system, DeLorme Street Atlas plus their Earthmate USB GPS, about $95. I have a straight wired power inverter to convert 12V DC to 110AC. Also, I use a Jotto Desk computer desk in the p.u., a very convenient combination, one I have been using about six years now. http://www.jottodesk.com/
