Kansas | How you go down a steep grade in a pickup without an engine brake Ern?
If your riding the brakes all the way down the "hill", pray to the good lord cuz at bottom you won't stop.
Laughed my butt off after touring pikes peak and passing people going downhill and the guy at the mid checkpoint with the temp gun said my brakes were the lowest temp he'd seen that day.
Yes WF, ENGINE brakes otherwise work just like Ernie said. Realize not all are "jake brakes". Jake is a slang term used in reference for Jacobs Brake. There was quite a bit of hub bub not so long ago that towns had to change the signs because it was discriminatory. Not to mention, hard to write me a ticket in the peterbilt for using a jake brake when I'm running a cat engine brake.
After running vale in colorado with the truck, you learn right fast how to brake and use an engine compression brake. | |
