I went to a Drainage Workshop in St Joe last week and Kelly Nelson at MU Drainage and Subirrigation Research had some outstanding results in some soil types similar to yours.  I think it was closer to Macon but still in the same bench area as yours.  They were getting 60% yield increase with the drainage and subirrigation they were doing.  Give him a call.
