Subject: Re: Overhead grain bin

Leesburg, Ohio
We put up an overhead last fall. Bought a Lowry bolt-together structure and built that ourselves...already did the footers when we installed the pit and leg system a year before. Had the local crane guy and our millwright move our existing 18' diameter 3000 bushel hopper tank from its location on the ground to the overhead structure, and changed the bottom gate to a roller trap with a two-way valve for either dumping into trucks, or feeding the dryer with wet corn. We can load a 1000 bushels in 4 minutes. Still need to build some catwalks to get from the leg over to the hopper tank ladder, and ane to stand on to load trucks.
