south east SD
SD they are 33 feet from center of the road, gravel bigger the hwy further out they are. Good. bad. sad. in Indiana I saw the poles right beside the road, Even trees and fences. No ditch what so ever!! Have a flat keep driving till you can find a place to pull off. One big old tree was 1/2 mile from a high school and was covered with balloons and signs, Asked my friend what was that all about and he said it was for the high school kid killed when running into the tree!! He also said that the kids seem to hit it every couple of years!! I asked why not cut it down and he said that when they try there is always a big uproar to leave it stand!!
