weve ran drapers on 2388's for 4 years now and don't see any need for a chip... you do need a 3rd lift cylindar and weight in the back end...we just put fluid in the rear tires...

now there is a few changed when they went to the 2588 and we really like the jump to the 25's........ if hes not wanting alot more i would strongly go towards that... if he's wanting to much stay with the 23.. the first year we had the 36ft draper we had a 40 that avg 50 and we had no issues... since all of the beans go threw head first and even it really just goes right threw that machine.....

Also we had a field that made 10 and was about 3-4 inches tall (seemed like) and i couldn't believe how fast i could go and not leave anything on the ground....with the old 1020 head i would have been there for another hour....
