I use 1" pex "air-line" this is pex tubing that is for air,works great easy to bend around corners , no rust to worry about, and it all goes together quickly with compression fittings as for water traps I put t's at the bottom and put my outlet on 1 fitting and 8" more pipe on the bottom of the T with a ball valve for drainage and works like a charm.
