| Most ball valves have 3 wires coming out of them. One is 12 hot, one is 12 volt switched from the control switches and the third is ground. A 2 wire valve may be using an internal case ground so there are only 2 wires. Your controller should work fine with either system as long as it is wired properly.
I have attached pics of a remote control unit I built to control the valves for tip cleaning and inspection. I have found it to be very a useful tool.
