I do it often on dreary winter days.  It goes straight out of my office onto my patio, and is airborne in less than 90 seconds, no time to get cold before it starts operation.  I step back in and go as far as I can go, then step out and go a little further until I can see them.  I have a large hill between me and my winter pasture, so I have to have some elevation programmed into the RTH just in case something happened.
