Thanks for the idea but, in my case, it won't work because my two rubber coated rollers are the "bread" on the outside of a steel roller that is the "meat". The welds or rivets would create a knifing action against the net I'd guess :-(
A mega-coating of duct-tape eh? Might work for a while......
