1/2 mile, times ~25', (I don't know how wide your head is), is around 1.5 acres wasted. You fertilized, planted, sprayed, etc. this strip so basically you are burning up $500-?? every other year. Seems like there ought to be a better way. Maybe not.

Plus I'm not sure why you'd subject the mower to this. Just run the corn over and save on the repairs.
