SW Minnesota | A few years back I needed a toolbox for one of my tractors. I priced out ones at the various farm supply stores and most of those were around $35 and I really didn't like their "universal" mounting systems. I stopped at the JD dealer and priced out theirs - $45. I thought that wasn't too bad so I bought one, brought it home, cut the strap holding the lid shut and.... no mounting bracket! Who sells a tractor toolbox with no mounting bracket?
So I went back to the dealer to inquire about it and he said "Yeah, that's how they sell them now." So I had him price that out, thinking it maybe was around $10 or less, then he told me what the OP posted above. I couldn't believe it - the mount costs more than the toolbox! So I returned the toolbox and got my money back.
Leave it to John Deere to sell a simple tractor toolbox and mount for $125-130... | |
