“These are the times that try men's souls.” | Well in my opinion, they are all good. I've got old equipment, and new as well. My oldest tractor is a JD 4030 for the money, its a good solid tractor. It has more than paid it's way. The newest field tractor for me is a CIH 7110 MFD. I really like it too. You need to farm within your means. If you can go for all new then do it. But I can't, somethings we buy new hay balers, swathers, etc. The things we have a time line to use. We can't have our hay equipment go down.
I'm not afraid of electronics on equipment, they get better with time, and help you make that 100,000 dollar tractor idiot proof for some drivers. When you have a time line to get a crop in, and can make a new tractor pay for itself, go for it. |
