Subject: RE: Cat 45 Ez Steer settings

That freeplay seems a little high for a Cat but every tractor is different. I set up a Cat the other day and settled on .3" freeplay, 11-12 angle turn, and 120-125 aggressiveness.

Where is your antenna mounted? I was on the front of the cab but if you're having trouble getting online I know the recommended location is the front of the hood. I would think that would acquire the line better. The tractor I was running was a little lazy acquiring the line but not as bad as you are describing. Once locked on it did a good job of staying online.

When are you engaging the EZ Steer? I have found it seems to acquire the best when you get it within a few feet of the line and engage it with the tractor heading at a slight angle towards the line. If you engage it parallel to the line or worse yet heading away from the line it takes significantly longer to acquire.
