Subject: RE: Deere 7400 tractors

When I decided to dispose of my 4430 as my primary loader tractor, I replaced it with a 7410. For now, the 4320 and 4440 are on loader duty until I can modify the 725 frames (to a 720 frame) I bought from someone here for my 7410.

I use the 7410 for mowing (1518 mower), some spraying, pulling a 20 ft roller harrow, and other odd jobs. It is a pleasure to operate compared to the 4430.

The trans is easier to operate than a quad range. I find myself using "C" range in the 7410, where I found myself using "B" range in the quad for the same chore.

I think the 7410 (MFWD's) had a more durable front axle for loader work than the 7400's.

The 414 engine was widely used in industrial and constuction applications prior to being used in ag and has a great track record.
