Subject: Re: peice of plastic film in engine oil

Southeast Washington
We had the oil pressure fluctuate all over the place on a Cummins engine in a combine and couldn't figure out what it was. It was a couple years old but Cummins had done an update on it. The engine had to be pulled and the foil to the Valvoline jugs were plugging the oil pump intake. It had five of those foil seals and Cummins tried to stick it to us but we use bulk oil and they used the Valvoline jugs to put oil in after the update they had done to it. A bunch of seals pushed into a jug at the factory and then they were poured in without someone noticeing them coming out of the jug.

Anyway Cummins covered it but yes the seals can cause problems.
