I don't have any practical experience using plate planters, but know Grandpa had scads and oodles of planter plates in the shed. Seemed he'd get a set of plates every year for different seed.
Irregardless of the number of cells, isn't the size of the cell important as to the size of the seed?
Could he be getting doubles or triples if the cells aren't sized to the seed? In which case changing sprockets will help population but not spacing which still isn't really going to help.
50k/A makes the corn seed salesman happy, but not the bean salesman.
Either corn or beans the farmer isn't very pleased at 50k/A.
I assume we're talking corn in this case. | |
