KS | I did weld another piece of angle over the area that was welded and brought it down over the frame member. We have about 4400 hrs on the separator, it is a 1997 model. I did try to weld the end of the cracks to avoid them starting over. If it does break again, I plan to cut the whole thing off and put in a replacement for the frame member with more substantial material. When I got into it I could not believe that it is only about 14 gauge material that the bracket is welded to. Looks like it should be the same thickness as the bracket-- about 1/4". | |
