SW KS, near Dodge City | Well, even if the sign was wrong, if I remember my CDL booklet correctly, the driver is responsible for ensuring that the load goes through. The examples given were road crowns/shoulders affecting the load height and also resurfacing of roadways adding to/taking away from the height.
Either way, when the sign says 14-10, it would make it hard to fit a 14-11 load through. Heck, even if the load was 14-8, he should have been going slow enough (like slipping the clutch to go slower than idle speed in low) to at least not total the rig out. | |
