If you took the stalk samples for nitrogen management. the following are guidlines at black layer
<250 Low
250-700 Marginal
700-2000 Optimum
>2000 Excess
I just finished taking about 140+ samples for my customers in conjunction with the Iowa soybean association, don't have any results back yet. Did get to see alot of different ear sizes and growth differences in our corn crop here.
