Subject: I'm hearing the opposite.

Eastern VA. No such thing as too many Magnums.
Not that it matters much to me, I have an old 894, but I'm hearing bad things about the 600 series out of eastern North Carolina. My buddy bought a new 608 36" corn head. He decided after he took delivery to go with a Clarke 10 row out of South Dakota, since he plants 10 rows.. It worked out good for him since they were short on cornheads in the area. The ones that stayed with the 608s were complaining that the design of the snap rolls was different in the fact that there is more space between the rolls and they are not working well at all. There was a frenzy of guys that wanted the 894 heads back, but most were gone by then. This is just what I been hearing, but I know conditions in the cornbelt are different than here in the east. I drove his 9770 with the clarke head for a little while and sure was impressed. It was running 20% and the yield was around 190.
