Line poles in our area are typically set 6 ft deep. Often the poles are stamped (or have a tag) that says 6-35, 6-40 or something such as that. I've always figured the "35" was the length; I don't know if the "6" is the depth but the local told me about a month ago that 6' if the normal depth.
