You won't have any problems moving an immaculate 7240. I know of people in the SE that are doing just the opposite getting rid of the MX's and buying old MAGNUM's. These guy's aren't owner operators and prefer the generic tractor for reliability. There's no difference in front end weight between the 255 and 275. My Dad's 7220 has 18 front weights, 7250 has 22. He's got a 305 that doesn't seem to be any heavier in the front than the 7250. The 305 get service calls and the 7250 hasn't seen a mechanic's truck for nothing but oil changes. He has Glade and Grove do all of his PM work and they keep up everything that's going on.
It's funny now that I'm not there he's got a good fleet of iron now and when I was growing up there it looked like a rainbow with all the different colors. He's 100% red now and doesn't want to discuss a green on with me even though I could have gotten him a good deal on his last purchase with a little green one with a loader.
