Central MN | No-Till is an option I run through my mind quite often. problem with No-Till on Rye on Rye is I am not using any herbicide (tillage is only herbicide). So, I would need a burn down after harvest somtime. Wth the price of fuel this might not be a bad idea. I have zero experience with no till and would need to experiement with the drill etc. In the market for a new drill so maybe its a good time to switch.
The FC is a High Clearance Glenco Terra Tamer with 7 inch sweeps. There are two I could move that seem kinda close and cause a few of the major "plugs" but the lumps are caused by many of the others as well. Its an older piece of equipment. Also starting to think maybe the mounted harrow is some to blame. I think a "Heavy Harrow" type would be better with wider spacing and longer (taller) teeth spaced futher apart on more bars.
