Subject: Re: Montag fertilizer carts

NorthEast Iowa,
I have used two different Montag fert hoppers over the last 10 years. The first one was on a pulltype Progressive Mid Mount caddy. This year we pulled a new highoutput Montag 8 ton fert hopper on the heaviest Montag cart pulled behind a 16 row toolbar with Dawn Pluribus striptill units. The Montag fert delivery system works excellent and very accurate row to row.
How many row unit are you building and are you carry it on the 3point? My concern is the geomitry of turning a 3point rig and the quick whipping effect that will have on the steerable Montag cart. You diffently want the highoutput model to match the speed you will be pulling the Dawn units. Also check out the Harvest International website harvestintmfg.com they are mounting the Montag metering system with their own designed hopper and carrying it on board the new heavier design Friesen frontfold toolbar with Dawn row units.
