We just had to replace the header controller in our new 2588 for the same reason. It would max out at 35 rpm. After the new computer it ran 65 rpm. The tech first tried a new selinoid on the reel control valve but not change. You can push on the end of the valve with a screww driver to see if the reel speeds up. I guess this will only apply if the 2188 uses the same valve.
