I'm not sure exactly what you are dealing with. I guess I would probably limit my "fixing" to things which need it. If the water line leaks, I might replace it. If the wire shorts out, or isn't big enough for the load, I might replace it. I doubt I would be moving stuff that is perfectly functional just because the previous owner didn't ask me where to put it first.

There's lots of underground stuff on this place which I don't know the location of. As long as it works, I don't really care. I will probably never understand why the telephone line went through the field on the other side of the creek on it's way to the house, though. It doesn't anymore....teleco's plow doesn't go as deep as our subsoiler....and the wire wouldn't carry data at a decent rate anyway.
