Understand where you are at on the hours/depreciation expense and there is nothing wrong with being frugal provided it doesn't compromise saftey. My family does the same thing in trying to use what we have without racking up hours on a newer tractor when an older one can do the job. Ultimately you know your operation better than I do and what your operators' skills are and I just gave my thoughts on what I read no accusation intended.  Best of luck on your choice.
