Hagen Brothers farms,Goodrich ND
A spec rotor with an auger front will about eliminate the banging you hear / feel with a std rotor and impellers, plus improve throughput by about 25%.
It will be so smooth that you now have to watch rotor rpm drop to keep from slugging the rotor.
With the std rotor /impellers, it would warn you with all the crashing and banging long before rotor rpm dropped much.
If you ever have reason to pull the rotor out, the drive improver kit ( big red washer and longer bolts) pretty much eliminates breaking drive hub bolts. Replacing the concave mount pipe with the solid shaft and improved hanger brackets pretty much eliminates concave mount trouble.
I really like the SS auger front on a spec rotor with 12 Gorden bars on the front.
It makes a rotor that will thresh Glen wheat with 1% dockage yet put through tough pea /bean straw with hardly any grumble and banging. Green Kochia goes through without much drama unless you suck in enough to plug the rotor over the grates.
We also run Loewen concave shock kits which allow the concaves to spring open enough to allow a ball of green stuff to roll through.
