Near Intersection of I-35 & I-90 Southern Mn. | I have used the Raven Flowmax which is their version of an inline self contained flowmeter. This works fine but the batteries are somewhat special and not available at common outlets.
I plumbed mine with a female and male quick coupler so that I could insert it in several locations.
I always put mine on the pressure or output side, generally right where my hose quick connects to my sprayer. I think this would be most desirable. Since the line is experiencing some back pressure at this point, the flowmeter is always "full" which helps keep the readings accurate.
Low flow situations can cause problems with any flowmeter. This is why flowmeters are sized for a certain operating range. If the flow in a large flowmeter is too low, the product can pass through without turning the turbine or paddle wheel properly.
