150-160 is not too high for the high side pressure. Properly charged it can run 200- 225 and even higher on a hot and humid day. You need to invest in a set of electronic A/C scales to weigh the charge. I went for several years charging only on the gauge readings and got along fine, but was putting in more freon than I was billing the customer for. Takes longer to charge a pound of freon than you might think.
On a system that the compressor runs all the time, low side pressure generally runs 10 - 15 psi and seldom higher. I think you need to add a little more at a time as you are still undercharged.
