Subject: 1010 straight head leveling

just a tish NE of central ND
What is the proper leveling procedure for a 1010 strait header? The book gives charts for tire size and I have set the front throat plate acordingly,It is better than it was, yet, if I butch the hard ground (some really short crop on light land that got little rain) with the header it lets dirt enter.....then I have to dig and clean and I get grumpy.Should the header be tilted back even more?
