It has been my experience that they have remarkable LOS range but it drops off fast if you get something between you and the drone. One lesson I have learned with my P3 is if you appear to lose connection, go UP with the stick. I have found that I sometimes still have control of the drone even though my app says I have lost connection. It is like the signal is making it to the drone but the drone's signal doesn't make it back. You may be able to re-gain full connection if you get the drone up higher to fly it back home without having to use RTH.
