So I would assume there will be a subscription fee. Do you know what network you will be relying on?
I would say they are using Aeris Communications, according to this link. Aeris essentially consolidate a whole bunch of regional service providers, and a couple of the bigger ones, like sprint, into a virtual network that will give you more coverage than any one traditional provider. If you go here and click on the CDMA coverage map, you should be able to get an idea of your coverage. You can do a search if you select the interactive map option.
