Subject: Re: Insight & Norac

Sheldon, IA
Our company has two 4920's with 120'booms. One has the John Deere boom leveling system and one has the Norac UC4 with etreme terrain 5 sensor system. Both machines run on ground ranging from terraced and contoured to straight, flat fields. The UC4 is performing much better then the John Deere system. The JD system is fast to lift the boom but too slow when bringing it down and we are told that there is no way to fix this by the dealer. So the applicator has to manaully lower the boom. He also complains that it likes to make the boom wag from end to end some times. The applicator running the UC4 has had no complaints and says the UC4 reacts must faster then the JD system. He also says that the roll detection feature of the UC4 works much better then whatever the JD system does. We would have gone with an Insight and the UC5 system but we needed the system running in May already or the applicator says he was going to go nuts. The JD system had already been on for a year on the second machine.
