Subject: RE: Implement Switch

Near Intersection of I-35 & I-90 Southern Mn.
Not sure how your implement switch is wired but usually a relay would be used that is triggered by the action of one of the boom valves. Since a partial coverage map is not possible with some of these mapping systems this triggering is often done off of the center section.

The output from the relay (using either the Normally Open or Normally Closed terminals) controls the mapping ON/OFF in the other device (your tablet).

Using a relay separates the two systems. From your description it sounds as if the implement switch arrangement that you are using has an undesirable effect on the actual boom valves themselves.

A common 12V relay should work. Wire the coil to ground and the other terminals taps into the boom trigger wire. Thus whenever the boom is ON the points in the relay are activated. Then connect the wires from the tablet coverage switch to the COMMON and the N.O. termianl on the relay.

If the Coverage map is backwards (maps when it shouldn't and doesn't map when it should) then use the N.C. termianl instead of the N.O. terminal.

Note: not all relays will have both the N.O. and N.C. terminals.
