My tire guy uses the bead soap(Murphy's?) in a bucket(looks like yellow grease). Glops the rim full, I mean full-full enough to fill the gap between the bead and the rim. Then he puts his air hose onto a chuck screwed onto the valve stem, as the tire oozes out toward the rim he scoops the grease off and puts it back in the bucket. He says this takes a little longer, but it works every time and is less work than fooling with straps around the tire. |
