Thank you for posting the pictures.
Brings back memories of state of the art equipment of the fifties. My dad bought a Massey Harris 890 in ´56 and a Massey Ferguson 890 S in ´´58. (Similar to models 90 and 90 S, just made in France instead). At that time Masseys were THE harvesters here. European brands like Claas, Clayes and Munktells were almost copies of Deere 55 and not as sleek and smooth running as the Masseys.

In the early sixties Massey introduced the model 500. I remember the sensation it created at the equipment shows. It was a great leap forward in a design way ahead of the competitors.

Always wondered what caused the deroute of Masseys. Were they in need of a Joe Tucker to keep up sales?

In the poorly scanned picture we are harvesting barley with the 890 back in ´56.
