Heil Harvesting, Ulysses KS/Limon CO | Not trying to be smart or run your business but a someone who uses tandems/pups as their primary trucks I just can't help but not answer your question and move in another direction.
If you are legal to gross 45900 lb gross on a tandem I would steer away from a tandem that is going to weigh a minimum of 22,500 lb and very well could weigh 24,000+ lb. If your truck weighs 22,500 (on the conservative side) your net would be 23,400 lbs or 390 bu of wheat. If you rig a truck that weigh 18,500 (which can be done with 300 hp, double frame, steel box) legal gross jumps to 456 or 16%.
The Pete is nice and if you really never do plan on running it much to town go for it. My take would be to find something that could practically do both. |
