Yes, I've had the same experience. So what brand were your old blades? Can you dig one of them out of your iron pile and see any markings?
Dull blades are really frustrating, as they hobble the whole planting operation. There's real money involved in doing this right...I think we could all afford $100/blade for something that really stayed sharp.
Does anyone know if Ingersoll markets a 750 blade with their "Dura-Coat" (or whatever they call it) band around the edge? Their web site mentions it, but not in connection with 750 blades. Ingersoll also mentions an "Edge-Care" system, but no details.
While on the subject of iron piles, we hauled DAD'S pile off this spring. In it were Case plow coulters, that had been worn to about 12" diameter and thrown in the pile at least 40 years ago. They were still WAAAAY sharper than the blades I now have on my 1860. I saved them.
